Yamla Jatt was a popular Punjabi folk singer and lyricist who was born on 30 January 1944 in the village of Gurdaspur district, Punjab, India. His real name was Jaswant Singh Bains, and he was also known as "Diamond of Punjab." Yamla Jatt started his singing career in 1960 and had sung more than 2,500 songs. He was known for his soulful voice, meaningful lyrics, and his unique style of singing, which is why his music is still popular among Punjabi music lovers.
Some of his popular songs include "Das Main Ki Pyar Wichon," "Udeekan Terian," "Tainu Takdi Rawaan," "Sarpanch," "Teri Deed Da Chalaan," and "Mirza Jatt," among others. Yamla Jatt passed away on 20 August 1991, but his music still lives on, and his contribution to Punjabi folk music cannot be forgotten.
